- Parents are expected to co-operate with the school authorities by enforcing regularity and discipline in their children.
- Students have to prepare a timetable for home study and parents should check whether they are following it or not. That may help them in preparing their daily lessons.
- Sick and unhealthy students, and those suffering from contagious diseases will not be permitted to attend the class.
- Parents, Guardians or other persons are never allowed to meet the students or teachers during class hours at the door of class rooms. On emergencies they have to contact the principal in the office.
- In all communication with the school, the name, standard and section of the children should be clearly mentioned.
- Changes in the addresses or telephone numbers of parents/guardians must be intimated to the school, failing which the school will not be responsible for the non-receipt of communication.
- On every first Fridays all the parents are allowed to meet the teachers after 1 p.m.
DISCIPLINE
Discipline is an integral part of the learning process. For this a student has to learn self-control, by understanding his/her emotions and impulses. He/She must learn to live in harmony with others by respecting the customs and traditions of the family and the society, by keeping the laws of the country and by obeying the commandments of God.
Order must be the hallmark of our school. For this an atmosphere of silence must be maintained by everyone during working hours in classrooms, staff rooms and office. Thus everyone should contribute to maintain an excellence of standards.
- Cleanliness is a pre-requisite of orderliness. Therefore, all the class rooms, corridors and the whole campus of JMJ must be kept clean.
- Everyone must get acquainted with the rules and regulations of the school given in this hand book besides the timely instructions given by the authorities through public announcements or by notices issued. Ignorance of rules will not be accepted as an excuse.
- Students arriving in School Campus before first bell (9.15) have to go straight to their own class-rooms and be busy with the day's lessons, exercises or home work, in silence. Running or playing about or shouting inside the classrooms or corridors is not allowed.
- Students and teachers have to attend the morning assembly and join the prayers. Those who happen to come late shall not enter the class; but report to the Principal / Teacher designated and get marked in the late attendance column in hand book. Routine late coming will not be tolerated, but will be taken to task.
- When the teacher enters the class room, all the students stand up, greet him / her and remain standing until they are asked to sit or the teacher takes his / her seat. They shall thank the teacher when the class is over.
- Students shall not leave their classroom during or in between two periods, but remain silent and prepare for the next period. When they are taken out to the library, laboratory or the playgrounds, they have to move in two lines, keeping the left side of corridors, in silence.
- Students shall not enter any other classroom than his/her own at any time. Students may change their allotted seats in the class room only with the permission of the class teacher.
- Students are responsible to look after their own articles. They may not bring to school valuable and curious articles, books or magazines, camera, transistor, pen drive, cassette player, cassettes, CDs, playing cards, toys, balls, tattoos etc., without prior permission from the Principal. Use of Mobile phones by students is strictly prohibited in the school. They may not put on gold ornaments.
- Students on entering the school campus in the morning will not be allowed to go out of campus till the evening.
- No pupil is allowed to leave the school premises during the school hours without the permission of the Principal.
- The students and staff are expected to speak only in English once they enter the school campus except in languages classes. Each one should endeavour to keep high the refined tone of the school by excelling in good manners and deportment.
- The Handbook issued to every student at the beginning of the year is to be kept neat and tidy all through the year and to be brought to the school everyday. Students are not allowed to write anything in it except in the pages allotted for them. It must be safely kept throughout the year and will not be easily replaced. If once lost, a new one has to be collected from the office, but only with the special permission of the Principal, on the recommendation of the class teacher. It is the important document of the student's career, conduct and studies in the school for the year, and hence is not to be replaced easily.
- No collection of any kind for any purpose whatsoever may be made among the students or staff without the permission of the Principal. Similarly any meeting, party or picnic or any kind of organised school activity shall be arranged with the previous approval of the Principal. Parents are earnestly requested to make no personal gifts to staff members.
- Students are strictly forbidden to write or make any remarks on the walls or any part of the school premises or on furniture. Any student found doing so, will be liable to punishment.
- Any serious breach of discipline and above all discourtesy and disrespect to members of the school staff in any way will be treated severely.
- The Principal / Management has the right to introduce, amend or change the rules and regulations whenever necessary in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the school.
